Shadow of Dislocation
dislocation, n. - disturbance from a proper, original, or usual place or state. (The internet/Google/Oxford)
dislocation, n. - “the sense of being lost in time and space and of dismemberment.” (Gene Keys - 2nd Key)
If the Shadow of Entropy is depressive, then the Shadow of Dislocation is anxious. This Shadow implies that your perception of your current reality feels a certain way (lost, “lonely, cut-off, afraid or dejected”). It is the sense of feeling separate from others and nature or a lack of belonging. It is a state of distrust in the world and universe around the individual in the dance with this shadow. In spiritual texts, the “goal” is oneness with everyone and everything. This shadow misguides the individual into believing that they are the lone wolf. They are for no one and no one is for them. This is, however, just the perception. Our connectedness is inherent whether it is seen or believed or not.
The repressive state of Dislocation is “lost.” It is described as “being out of alignment with one’s true universal destiny.” It is “materialism and selfishness.” This is where it is always the “I” and never the “we.”
The reactive state of Dislocation is “regimented.” It is a rigidity of beliefs and structures rooted in anger. Religions that seek to separate the individual from Source fall into this shadow. Everyone has direct access to Source without needing an intermediary. The Regimented believe that this is a relationship that can only be developed through others. Science that ignores experiences (ex. Western vs. Eastern Medicine) fall into this category. The reactive state is controlling.
How to work with this shadow state:
This work will be less about something that you do and more about how you change your inner landscape or perception. It is asking for paradigm shift.
Inner Critic work to quiet the negative committee in your head
Developing a spiritual practice that fits your needs (meditation, yoga, prayer, breathwork, walking in nature, ceremony/ritual work, etc.
Trying flowing with life rather than forcing; surrender; yielding
Look into Divine Feminine/Masculine work. This isn’t a gendered expression of male/female, but more of traits that can be present in all bodies.
See a therapist, healer, coach, etc. (You will probably see this on every shadow.”

Disclaimer: What I find unhelpful with the Gene Keys text is that it is more spiritual than realistic, especially when these states are resulting in mental illness. Maybe all mental illness has a root in shadow, but that isn’t for me to say and it is super invalidating for people who experience these states. So as you read through this, or any of these shadows, know that your own experience is valid regardless of impersonal spiritual texts. This goes for Gene Keys, Human Design, and any other spiritual text even from world religions. If these texts invalidate a person’s humanity, then it’s the text that is the problem and not the person. Always use personal discernment.
